Ta-Dah!

*I* knit these! ME! All by myself! I even modified the pattern that I found at Knitty.com. I added an interior pocket to hold herbs, rocks, little dolls... whatever.
I made them for a pair of girls who are having a coming of age (mooning?) ceremony. I hope the designer, MK, doesn't mind.
:)
Um. The Hubby-Man pointed out that some of you might wonder what the hell they are.
They're wombs. Complete with cervix and fallopian tubes.
'Cause I'm a freak.
A very proud freak.

those turned out great......btw thanks for spending 176 min with me on the phone the other day....sorry i took up so much of your time..but you really did help me alot! love ya...see ya soon i hope!
I'm both grossed out and fascinated at the same time........ I think that means you succeeded (as you know inners are both cool and gross at the same time)
errata:
The second uterus took maybe 2 hours to knit, stuff and sew. So the pattern is quick. I was supposed to add beads to the end of the fallopian tubes, for "ovaries", but I couldn't figure out how to make that look good, so I left them out. Also, there are wires in the tubes, so they're poseable. Isn't that too cute!
Martha: I originally typed "uterii", because that's what I've been thinking of them as. "I have a pair of uterii..." Well, 3 if you count the one I grew -rather than knit. :D
Achromic: they're fun to cuddle, too!
I LOVE them!!!! You did a wonderful job, thanks for posting photos!!! LOVe them LOVe them LOVe them! You'll have to let us know how the girls react. LOL
I wonder what I'd have thought when I was of that age....
They turned out to be WONDERFUL!! I can't wait until the ceremony! I think the girls will both understand and love them!!
Thank you!
Martha, I'm sorry about that. I'm simply lazy. I usually check on you through Persephone's blog or sitemeter, and never got around to updating my links. I know there are others I need to update too. So you're not alone. :)
How weird?? My dog has a new toy that is very similar that I crocheted him last week, because I couldn't find a suitable chew toy in the pet shops. I made it out of some really tough nylon yarn and it does look like the product you were making. Actually after viewing the picture you posted, I have to say it has a womb (yes, that part is the same - stuffed with batting), one fallopian tube rather than two, and oops, I missed the urethra (is that what that other thing is?) Won't do him much good though cause Dough-Gee is neutered. ;)
The bottom bit is the cervix. Muahaha.
it's 4 rounds of knit, a round of purl, a bunch more knit, then you tuck the first 4 rows inside so you have an impossibly tight tube. hee hee.
I hope Dough-Gee likes his new toy. It sounds like a good one!
